Once upon a time, there was a girl who started a little fashion blog on Tumblr. She had a lot of fun doing her thing (or trying to), and she realized she wanted more. A few months (and some questionable outfits and many failed cookie recipes) later, she made a free WordPress blog. That was great too, but it still didn’t feel right. Finally, she made a home for herself on her very own self-hosted WordPress. There she oscillated between recipe posts, outfit posts, and a mosh pit of assorted posts. Eventually, she began calling it a lifestyle blog.
That girl was/is me, and I couldn’t be happier with where I am today. 2013 had its fair share of shining moments, as well has heart-crushing ones. I’m so stoked to see what 2014 has in store, but first let’s take a look back…
I worked with Cristina, the artist behind 80/20 Neckwear. There aren’t enough words to describe this amazing woman and how much her support has meant to me.
My Single Lady Coffee Pancakes were featured on DailyBurn as one of the most creative coffee recipes. Guess who else was on the list? Sally from Sally’s Baking Addiction! Guess who fell off her chair when she heard the news? This girl!
I celebrated my 18th birthday with some beautiful people; I wouldn’t have it any other way. Fun fact: most of my family is oblivious to this little corner of the internet- it’s a blessing and a curse.
Time by the sea is time well spent.
I watched some major protests go down.
My BFF and I met in Chicago for a fun (and shopping) filled long weekend.
Have you noticed how much better outfit pictures have been lately? Yeah, thank Jody for that. So much love for that girl!
Although I am proud of these.
I finally got on my cookie A-game; it may be my greatest accomplishment of 2013.
When everything is said and done, I would be nowhere without all of you. I feel so blessed that you read my work and actually stick around. From the bottom of my heart: thank you.
